MILSET Expo Science 2026
On 18 October, a delegation of Georgian students travelled to Mantua, Italy. At the MILSET ESE 2026 international exhibition of young scientists, students from the Georgian-American High School (GAHS) and the Georgian-American High School, Vake Branch (GAHSV) represented Georgia. Two team leaders accompanied the group.
MILSET ESE brings together young researchers from different countries. Participants present their scientific work, talk with visitors about their research, and learn about peers' projects from other countries.
Students from GAHS and GAHSV took part in the exhibition in three categories:
Engineering, Computer Science and Robotics Applications: Nia Kikalia, Alexander Chkhetiani and Ana Iosebidze;
Pure and Applied Sciences: Davit Dumbadze and Davit Bitsadze;
Environment and Ecosystems: Nia Lomidze and Kristine Tskhadaberidze.
After the opening ceremony, the students set up their stands in the exhibition space. They presented their projects to visitors and to delegations from other countries, and explained the main points of their research to interested guests.
The visit to Italy was not limited to the exhibition. The historic centre of the host city, Mantua, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The students toured its historic districts, architecture and landmarks. The trip continued in Venice and Milan, adding an introduction to Italy’s history and culture to the scientific programme.
Both schools include participation in international science exhibitions, olympiads, and academic conferences as part of their educational work. Such events give students the experience of engaging with peers from other countries and presenting their work to an international audience.
