What would happen if students arrived at school one morning to find every single teacher gone? This playful — yet thought-provoking — question was the backdrop for a wonderful English-language play performed by our 5th graders at the Georgian-American High School (Vake Campus). Through their performance, the students gave a big, heartfelt thank you to their teachers, showing just how much they appreciate the hard work, patience, and care that goes into their education every day. As part of the school's traditional charitable activities, members of the Georgian-American School Eco-Club carried out another meaningful project.| Using funds raised by the entire school community, the students purchased gifts for the children attending the Sunday school in the village of Nikozi. For the final stage of the project, students and teachers visited Nikozi to hand-deliver the gifts to the children. During their visit, they attended a shadow theater performance staged by the local children, which left a deeply warm and memorable impression on the guests. The village of Nikozi is located along the occupation line, making it vital that these children feel supported, cared for, and cared for. Every small act of kindness can make a significant difference in their lives. Projects like this foster empathy, civic responsibility, and a strong sense of social solidarity among students. Another exciting, interdisciplinary project has come to life at Georgian-American School (Vake Branch)! Our fifth-graders combined Georgian language, literature, and modern technology to create a digital space where they brought their own stories to life. The students designed their own invitations using Canva, delivered a blog presentation, and shared their best creative works with the community, including: Letters and journals Essays and articles Fairy tales and fantasy stories Brochures and autobiographical pieces At the end of the presentation, we even awarded special nomination titles to their work! It all started with the initiative of Nino Khurtsilava, a 9th-grade student at the Georgian-American School - a drawing competition themed "Global Conflicts" was held at the school. The main challenge was for participants to create their artwork at school within a very short timeframe and then present their pieces along with their core messages to the audience and jury through a brief presentation. The artworks turned out to be so emotional, deep, and meaningful that the jury found it quite difficult to choose the winners. Great Victories Begin with the First Move. On June 2nd, Vake Georgian-American High School hosted Georgian Grandmaster Nino Batsiashvili for a meet-and-greet with students from the school's chess club. While the visit took place, first-graders practiced their moves on the giant outdoor chessboard in the yard. Batsiashvili currently ranks 15th in the women's world rankings and holds the Grandmaster (GM) title in both the women's and open categories. Her achievements include an Olympic silver medal, two World Team Championship titles with Georgia, a European Rapid Championship title, four European Club Cup wins, and Georgia's "Athlete of the Year" in 2022. During the visit, Mrs. Nino shared stories from her career, including her drawn match against World Champion Magnus Carlsen. Students then faced her in a simultaneous exhibition match, testing their skills directly against a Grandmaster. To close the day, Mrs. Nino and chess instructor Megi Esebua presented awards to the winners of the school's intra-school tournament: 1st Place: Davit Machavariani (IV-2) 2nd Place: Demetre Motsonelidze (IV-4) 3rd Place: Giorgi Getsadze (IV-3) Encounters like this give students a chance to learn from elite athletes and consider what focused, long-term effort can achieve.

The 9th-grade students of the Georgian-American High School (Vake Branch) organized a charity and educational project to raise awareness of Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. As part of the initiative, students held awareness presentations alongside a charity exhibition and sale, which received strong support from the school community. All proceeds from the event were donated to a foundation supporting children with Duchenne. Our thanks go to the organizers and to every student, parent, and teacher whose generosity made this initiative possible.

Third-grade students from all parallel classes at the Georgian-American School presented the English-language play "On an Island." The young actors brought their characters to life with great dedication, confidence, and artistry, delivering an engaging and emotion-filled performance for the audience. The play provided another exciting opportunity for the students to put their English skills into practice, gain stage experience, and develop their creative talents. Grade 1(1) As the school year draws to a close, our first-graders marked the occasion with an English-language play, "Mickey Mouse Clubhouse." The students took on the roles of their favorite characters, singing and dancing on stage as Mickey, Minnie, Donald Duck, Goofy, Pluto, and their friends. A 31-member delegation from the Georgian-American School (GAS) has completed a European educational visit. The program brought together 9th and 10th-grade students on a journey through Zurich, Brussels, and Amsterdam, led by teachers Megi Talakhadze and Ani Kvernadze, alongside Giorgi Agirbaia, founder of the European Education Association (EEA). In Brussels, students visited several landmark institutions, including the European Parliament, the European Commission, the Parlamentarium, the Atomium, Mini-Europe, and the Belgian Parliament. A particular highlight of the trip was the celebration of May 9th - Europe Day - during which students took part in a range of educational and interactive activities. The delegation also visited Bruges, a UNESCO World Heritage city renowned for its medieval architecture and canals. In Amsterdam, students explored a number of significant historical and cultural sites, broadening their understanding of European history and identity. The program concluded with a certificate ceremony hosted by the European Education Association, recognizing each participant's engagement throughout the visit. Students returned to Georgia enriched with international experience, new perspectives, and lasting memories.

The Georgian-American School marked Independence Day this year with its traditional celebration. Students, teachers, and staff, dressed in national attire, took part in the event. This year's guest of honor was writer and public figure Giorgi Kekelidze. As part of the program, students recited poems and performed Georgian folk songs and dances. The gathering concluded with the national anthem of Georgia.

Grade 4(1) at the Georgian-American School completed an integrated project combining design, technology, and engineering. Design & Description: Students created portraits of robots and described their appearances using a range of adjectives. Functions & Game: They defined the robots' responsibilities and played a "Guess the Function" game. Marketing: They developed advertisements and awarded the robots in various categories. Digitization: They presented their digital artwork. Engineering: Using electrical circuits and simple structures, they built working robots.

A magical debut for our beloved first-graders! The little ones showcased their acting talent in the English-language play “Disney Park - Children’s Day.” Peter Pan, Captain Hook, Tinker Bell, Snow White, and the cheerful dwarfs—these are just a few of the characters who brought countless warm smiles to the parents in attendance! A heartfelt thank you to our hardworking children for such a wonderful day, and to our teachers for their selfless dedication and for creating this magic!
