"Kindness Begins with You" – An Initiative by the GAS Eco-Club The school's Eco-Club organized a charity campaign to help stray animals. Students collected food and, together with club leader Lika Meskhi, visited the Tamaz Elizbarashvili Dog Shelter, where they met the shelter's animals. Why is this important? Social projects like this foster a culture of responsibility, empathy, and care in children. This was the Eco-Club's second visit to the shelter, part of an ongoing effort to raise awareness of the topic in the community. Remember: Don't Shop — Adopt.

Sport, teamwork, and plenty of positive emotions—a true sports festival took place at the Georgian-American School! Parents and teachers actively participated alongside 2nd-grade students in the "Fun Starts" sports competition. Sports life holds a special place at the Georgian-American School. Friendly Volleyball Match A friendly volleyball match was held between the girls' teams of the Georgian-American School and Mermisi School, hosted by the Georgian-American School. The match ended with a victory for the Mermisi School team. We congratulate the winning team and thank both teams for their sportsmanship. Similar friendly matches are planned for the future. The Georgian-American School promotes interest in sports and a healthy lifestyle among its students.

Students from the 10th grade at the Georgian-American School (GAS) delivered an outstanding performance at the final round of the German Mathematics Olympiad, held on April 28th in Frankfurt. The competition drew over 2,000 participants from 140 countries across its initial stages. The Frankfurt final brought together more than 300 of the strongest competitors, representing 48 nations — and our students stood among the very best. Georgia returned home with 1 Gold and 2 Bronze medals. Natalia Subeliani (10th Grade) earned a Gold Medal and a €1,200 grant for her first-place finish in the online round, before going on to claim a Bronze Medal in the highly competitive Frankfurt final. Elene Omiadze (10th Grade) won a Bronze Medal in the final round of the Olympiad. Double Success at Hi Lingua Alongside the mathematics competition, both students represented GAS at the Hi Lingua International Language Competition, also held in Frankfurt. 🌍 GAS & GAHS Delegation at NHSMUN 2026 A 45-member delegation from the Georgian-American School (GAS) and Georgian-American High School (GAHS) represented their institutions at NHSMUN 2026 , held in New York City . The visit was a richly multifaceted experience, weaving together academic debate, diplomatic engagement, and cultural discovery. Throughout the conference, students threw themselves into committee work, tackling pressing global challenges, engaging in structured debate, drafting resolutions, and building connections with peers from around the world. As one of the largest international youth platforms, NHSMUN offers students an unparalleled environment to develop leadership, sharpen critical thinking, and gain firsthand diplomatic experience. The opening ceremony set an inspiring tone, with a keynote address by then U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris . Her remarks carried a resonant message for the young delegates. The conference concluded with a visit to the United Nations Headquarters, where students explored the founding principles of the UN and soaked in the atmosphere of international diplomacy up close. Beyond the conference halls, the delegation immersed itself in the culture and history of New York City. They explored St. Patrick's Cathedral, Rockefeller Center, the Empire State Building, Times Square, DUMBO , and the Brooklyn Bridge . A ferry ride to the Statue of Liberty proved especially memorable, as did visits to the Metropolitan Museum of Art and SUMMIT One Vanderbilt . Attending an NBA game rounded out the New York experience in style — and by many accounts, became the highlight of the entire trip. The journey then continued to Washington, D.C. , where the delegation visited the landmarks that define American political and historical memory: the U.S. Capitol, the White House, the Lincoln and Jefferson Memorials, the Washington Monument, Arlington National Cemetery, and the National Air and Space Museum . The tour gave students a vivid, grounded appreciation for the country's history and the institutions that shape it.

✨ As part of the long-term project "Meet Great Figures," launched by the school librarian T. Chelidze, March was dedicated to the legendary Georgian composer Zacharia Paliashvili. The project was developed in collaboration with music teacher Nino Gorkhelashvili. 📚 The project unfolded in two stages. In the first, our 4th(3) grade students visited the Paliashvili House-Museum, where they explored the composer's life and work in an engaging, age-appropriate format. 🎤 In the second stage, the students took center stage themselves, presenting what they had learned to their peers. 🇬🇪 A special highlight: the melody of the Georgian National Anthem draws on Zacharia Paliashvili's timeless operas, Abesalom and Eteri and Daisi. 🎶 The presentations closed on the day's most moving note, as everyone joined together to sing the national anthem.

Our 9th-, 10th-, and 11th-graders at the Georgian-American School just kicked off a long-term, integrated STEM + Safety + English Educational Project! Did you know that a confident future smile starts right at a school desk? As part of a special dental health program, the team from the Dental House clinic visited our 4th graders at the Georgian-American School. The doctors gave a super interesting presentation, breaking down exactly how to build a solid tooth-brushing and oral care routine. The kids got totally into it, asking tons of questions and learning all about: How sugar and sodas damage tooth enamel Why do kids have 20 baby teeth, while adults have 32 permanent ones How to build a proper daily hygiene routine The day showed the kids that dentists are actually their friends—turning fear into trust. To wrap things up, the Dental House team surprised everyone with some cool oral care goodies! Huge thanks to the amazing team at Dental House for such an important, informative, and positive day!

How many years does it take for plastic to decompose? What about glass? Or paper? These were the exact questions that kicked off today's eco-activity. To raise awareness about the issue, members of the Georgian-American School Eco-Club teamed up with our 5th graders. Members of the Georgian-American School's Eco-Club recently took part in an enriching environmental field workshop in the historic city of Telavi. Over three exciting days, students immersed themselves in a variety of hands-on activities - including role-playing games, thematic discussions, and creative team projects - all centered around the vital theme of environmental protection. Participants gained valuable new knowledge and practical experience, and enjoyed evening activities alongside an educational excursion exploring the beautiful city of Telavi. As a proud recognition of their hard work and dedication, each participant received a bilingual certificate  upon completion of the workshop. A heartfelt thank you to the organizing teachers - Lia Meshi  and Meri Tsimakuridze , for making this meaningful experience possible! Together, we grow greener.

GAS Chess Club Students Excel at Merani Tournament Students from the Georgian-American School Chess Club delivered outstanding performances at the tournament organized by the chess club "Merani." In the boys' category, Aleksandre Meskishvili  (Grade 3) claimed the bronze medal with a strong third-place finish. In the girls' category, Kato Nikatsadze  (Grade 3) took the top spot, winning first place. We are incredibly proud of our young chess players.
