INTEL ISEF 2018 - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania the Georgian national team became finalists

Congratulations to the 9th graders of our school - Mariam Kanchaveli and Lika Glonti for taking the 4th place at the International Conference in Turkey. They submitted projects in the math section. An invitation has already been received from next year's conference. It is noteworthy that our representatives were the youngest among the contestants and the more joyful the victory they achieved.

IJSO - XV International Olympiad of Young Scientists was held this year in Gaborone, the capital of Botswana. IJSO - This is one of the most challenging Olympiads in the world, it is held in 3 natural sciences - physics, chemistry and biology. The Olympics last for 10 days and are held in three rounds. Students compete with each other in test, theoretical and experimental assignments. Team leaders and students are present separately. Leaders participate in the selection of Olympiad assignments and their translation, although all participants must be fluent in English. This year, 44 countries participated in the Olympics, which took place on December 2-11. The Georgian team was composed entirely of Georgian-American high school X grade students. (Because the age of participants in the Olympics should not exceed 16 years). hers   The composition included: ​ Lika Glonti, Marim Tsulukidze, Mariam Kanchaveli, Mariam Saparashvili, Tatia Kobakhidze, Alexander Eradze . As in previous years, our team was successful in the Olympics. Georgian team won a bronze medal. In Botswana, our team traveled through Doha and Johannesburg. The duration of travel by Qatar Airways was  27 hours. As in previous years, the cultural program of the Olympics was brilliantly organized. The flora and fauna of the Mokolodi and Jvana natural reserves made an indelible impression on the participants. The next Olympics will be held in Qatar, from where our team has already received an invitation. The cultural event of the conference was very impressive. Georgian performance was highly praised at the closing ceremony.

Students from the Georgian-American High School and Georgian-American School, representing Georgia at the International Junior Science Olympiad (IJSO) , won a bronze medal. This year, the 14th IJSO was held in the Netherlands from December 3-13. The Olympiad hosted teams from 52 countries, with each team consisting of six students under the age of 16. Participants competed in three natural sciences: Physics , Chemistry , and Biology . The Olympiad is conducted in three rounds: a test round, a theoretical round, and an experimental round. IJSO is recognized as one of the world's most challenging Olympiads, lasting 10 days. During the competition, team leaders and students stay separately, with leaders accommodated in Nijmegen at the Val Monte Hotel and students at the Papendal Olympic Training Center in Arnhem. The Olympiad's excursion program is always impeccably organized. Students and team leaders explored the attractions of Amsterdam, leaving unforgettable impressions of the Rembrandt Museum , Van Gogh Museum , and boat tours through Amsterdam's canals. The host countries for upcoming IJSO events have already been announced. In the coming years, the Olympiad will take place in Botswana , Qatar , Germany , Ghana , Estonia , and Thailand .

From May 13-19, student teams from the Georgian-American High School and Georgian-American School participated in the Intel ISEF International Science and Engineering Fair  held in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The team competed in the mathematics section with the following members: Nodar Trapidze Mariam Mebuke Nini Machaidze

From April 16-22, the Georgian student team participated in the 24th International Conference of Young Scientists, held in Stuttgart, Germany. Young scientists from 29 countries competed in five scientific categories. The Georgian team consisted of 10 students from the Georgian-American High School and Georgian-American School. Silver Medal  – Tinatin Kamkamidze and Archil Gelenava in the Life Sciences category. Bronze Medal  – Mariam Gigauri in Physics. Bronze Medal  – Mariam Rostomashvili in Mathematics. Bronze Medal  – Mamuka Kobakhidze and Davit Gudadze in Mathematics. Special Prize  – Giorgi Bugechashvili and Tinatin Lagadze in Mathematics. At the closing event, each country presented a cultural performance. The Georgian dance, accompanied by guitar music, was highly praised. In May, students from our schools will represent Georgia once again, this time in the USA. The Intel ISEF  will be held this year in Los Angeles, the capital of California.

The 2015 International Conference of Young Scientists (ICYS) was held for the 22nd time this year. The conference took place in the Turkish city of Izmir, bringing together 203 students from 28 countries who presented their research projects across five sections: Computer Science and Engineering Environmental Sciences Life Sciences Mathematics Physics The joint team of the Georgian-American High School and Georgian-American School achieved great success in the Mathematics section, winning gold and silver medals: Giorgi Meskhi  – Gold Medal Mari Kanashvili  – Gold Medal Giorgi Giorgadze  – Silver Medal Jaba Jabauri  – Silver Medal This outstanding achievement is largely credited to their Mathematics and English teachers – Ia Mebonia , Bela Khoridze , and Nugzar Papashvili . The cultural program of the conference was brilliantly organized. The landmarks of Izmir, the ancient city of Ephesus (home to the Temple of Artemis, one of the Seven Wonders of the World), and the House of the Virgin Mary (a popular pilgrimage site visited by the last three Popes) left an indelible impression on the participants. We congratulate our team on their triumphant performance and wish them success at the upcoming 23rd conference, which will be held in Romania.

Serbia, 2014, Belgrade The 21st International Conference of Young Scientists (ICYS) was held this year. The conference took place in Belgrade, the capital of Serbia. The Georgian team was composed of seven students from our school and one student from the Vake branch. They presented four research projects. As always, the conference was excellently organized. The hosts arranged a diverse tour program for the participants. The group was particularly impressed by the Orthodox churches of Saint Sava and Saint Mark. Equally unforgettable were the excursions to the Avala TV Tower and the boat trip on the Danube. In the Mathematics section, the Georgian team achieved remarkable success, earning two silver medals and one bronze medal at the ICYS conference in Belgrade, which was attended by 124 students from 18 countries. The following students brought victory to the Georgian team: Giorgi Jgushia and Natia Cheishvili  – Silver Medal Irakli Gordadze and Andria Asatiani  – Silver Medal Lana Tediashvili and Irakli Iremashvili  – Bronze Medal Zura Shatavadze and Giorgi Beruashvili  – Certificate of Honor The team traveled to Belgrade via Istanbul. During the layover, under the leadership of Mr. Mamuka, the team visited two of Istanbul's main landmarks – the magnificent Hagia Sophia and the Sultan's Topkapi Palace.
